A relaxed ride around Saratoga Springs
In Saratoga Springs NY it was 75-80 degrees F today and sunny with quite a strong SW wind. Perfect to go for a ride around what is a lovely treed region with generally smooth, rolling roads.
Ben Serotta kindly offered me the use of his personal MEIVICI AE (Aero) and with a few adjustments all was good. We aim to ride as many brands and models of bike as we can and this opportunity was a bonus.
My initial impressions of the region are white fences, easy riding and courteous drivers who go out of their way to make room for you – just like Beach road. The other thing that struck me was the number of homes and buildings displaying the stars ‘n stripes. The Americans do national pride well!
Saratoga Springs is a major horse racing hub with a 6 week carnival during which the population triples – sort of Melbourne Cup time.
I will post some further shots once a minor tech hitch is resolved.
